Now, a brand new trailer for the upcoming season has been released. In the new clips, it’s revealed that a fan-favorite Sex and The City star will be joining the cast of the Hulu series, per TV Insider.
Get ready for more comedy and surprising moments. How I Met Your Father is returning with a bang, and this time Sophie’s got a new man. Although fans are obviously rooting for Sophie and Jessie to get together, Season 2 will feature the lead character with a new boyfriend. Of course, Sex and The City fans will recognize him. Actor John Corbett will appear on the series as Sophie’s new love interest.

In the trailer, it’s easy to see that Sophie is going through a little something. This time, it’s manifesting itself as dating the much older Corbett. Some fans may also remember that Duff and Corbett previously worked together in the film “Raise Your Voice.” Duff also worked with Sex and The City star Chris Noth (Mr. Big) in “The Perfect Man.” In addition, another Sex and The City alum, Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) currently plays the older version of Sophie on the series.
How I Met Your Father spoilers revealed in the new trailer also share peeks at the rest of the characters. Valentina and Charlie will appear to be doing their usual makeup and breakup routine. However, they’ll find it hard to stay away from one another. Meanwhile, it looks like Jesse will reunite with his former girlfriend, Meredith (Leighton Meester). Of course, Jesse’s best friend and bar owner, Sid wont be happy about the couple’s reunion.

In addition, Ellen will also be looking to cultivate her attraction to her new neighbor. She’ll also likely be there to help her brother Jesse try to navigate his messy romantic life. Meanwhile, while fans may have thought they saw the last of Josh Peck’s character, Drew, they’d be wrong. It looks like Drew will be featured in Season 2 of the Hulu series, despite his breakup with Sophie in Season 1.
How I Met Your Father is a spin-off series to CBS’ former hit sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. The show was a huge hit among fans. During Season 1 of the spin-off, easter eggs and cameos were revealed that linked the two shows together. Perhaps, fans can expect more of that when How I Met Your Father returns for Season 2 on January 24.
