Dancing With The Stars Season 35 Backstage Drama Erupts After Shocking Elimination: ‘You Don’t Need This Show’

DWTS Season 35 drama after Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart elimination

Dancing With The Stars Season 35 is shaping up to be one of the buzzworthy seasons yet. There have been record-setting voter turnouts, strict scoring changes, and a cast that has everyone talking. However, there has also allegedly been some backstage drama.

According to The Sun, last week’s elimination of Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart caused tension to run high behind the scenes. Sources claim that the ballroom vibes were off and that it was clear that some people were on edge, with Britt reportedly among those most upset.

Dancing With The Stars Pros Fuming After Recent Elimination

“The ballroom was the most tense and emotional it’s been in years,” an insider dished. “There was a lot of crying which is normal on elimination nights but the pure anger and tension you could feel in the room was unmatched. Not just with the other dances but the crew and the audience as well. The vibes went from feeling like a birthday party celebration to a funeral.”

Taylor and Britt were surprisingly eliminated after turning in their best dance of the season, earning 18/30 for their foxtrot. The elimination hit hard, with both Hanson and Stewart looking shocked and confused after the big reveal. Following the conclusion of the episode, things took a dramatic turn.

Will Britt Stewart Quit The Show?

The source claims that Britt was so upset that she’s now considering leaving Dancing With The Stars. “All of the other pros were supporting Britt but there were some specifically who told her ‘you don’t need this show’ and encouraged her to move on if she wanted to,” the informant revealed.

“It’s way too early and raw for her to decide how she’ll proceed and if she’ll come back next season. She agrees that other pros get treated better than her. She agrees that she was never set up for success. But it’s still her home, her family, and her livelihood.

Following the elimination, Britt told Good Morning America that she was “in shock,” and that she knew Season 35 was going to be “unexpected.” However, she never imagined that would mean an early exit for herself and Taylor.

Britt has performed as a pro on DWTS for seven seasons. Season 31 was her best when she and her then-partner, Daniel Durant, placed fifth. The couple later got married after meeting and falling in love on the reality TV competition series.

She has also previously been paired with Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, Cobra Kai actor Martin Kove, former NFL player Adrian Peterson, and ex-NBA star Baron Davis, and actor Eric Roberts.

Fellow Dancers Praise Stewart

However, the dancer has yet to hoist the Mirrorball trophy in victory. Despite that, she’s revered as a truly exceptional dancer by her colleagues. Fellow pro and Taylor Swift Eras Tour dancer, Jan Ravnik, even called Britt “one of the best dancers” that he’s ever worked with. Meanwhile, dancer Sharna Burgess says she wants Britt back next season with a very strong partner so that fans can watch her perform a freestyle in the finale.

Other pro dancers such as Daniella Karagach, Ezra Sosa, and Brandon Armstrong also spoke out in shock about their co-star’s early elimination.

Coming into Season 35, fans believed that Step Up actress Jenna Dewan, Savannah Bananas baseball player Jackson Olson, and actress Julia Stiles would be the ones to beat. While their scores haven’t been bad, it was previously reported that Jenna and Jackson were disappointing producers by not connecting with the audience.

Meanwhile, contestants such as Maura Higgins, Harry Shum Jr., and Ezra Frech have been wowing viewers with their dances so far this season. “Maura is the dark horse no one saw coming and Ezra has blown everyone away beyond expectations,” a source previously told the outlet.

With the alleged tension in the ballroom, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season shakes out, and who will eventually be crowned the Dancing With The Stars Season 35 winner.
